Well, here is Himeji Castle again, seen from another perspective, proudly standing at the top of a small hill. Also known as "White Heron", the largest feudal castle in Japan remains undamaged since its inauguration, in 1610. Its main tower is about 151 feet high. I've visited some fine castles and palaces in Europe and China before, but this one is my favorite, for sure.

Here is Himeji Castle, one of the prettiest and most preserved in Japan, located about 650km west of Tokyo. Known as "White Heron", it is the largest Japanese feudal castle and remains undamaged since its inauguration, in 1610. It was constructed on the top of a small hill and its main tower is about 151 feet high. In 1993, it was registered on UNESCO's World Heritage list.
